Ok, let it be clear, Iām under no illusion that you can make an electric guitar sound just like an acoustic guitar. At least i'm not aware of any technology, at the time of writing this, that can achieve this convincingly. However, we said the same thing about digitally modelling valve amps a few years back and look where we are now, so who knows what the future may bring!
The best to be had is by using an acoustic-simulator unit, a few of which are on the market. Other than carrying an acoustic-guitar in your arsenal and all the paraphernalia and effort required to mic it up, an alternative is to employ an Impulse-Response file.
All the sounds featured in the demo use the same preset, which is included in this pack. The amp-section is bypassed and the sound relies on the IR file to deliver the results.
There are ten mono files and ten stereo files.
Load the "acoustic+IR" preset file and import the chosen IR file as the cabinet
None of these presets have been tried or tested on the AFB or AFBmkII. The understanding is that there is some compromise when used on AFB and no compatibility with the AFB mkII We recommend you try some of the free presets before making any purchase.
There is no direct import compatibility between the AFB or AF3/6/12 and AFBII. The behind the scenes differences structures are significant. The only preset conversions supported are AF3/6/12 to AFB (the original)
